Bramhope Group Camp

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have just returned from a weekend away. Everyone had a good time,  taking part in a variety of activities, archery, climbing and bird box building among others.

Have you ever tried to build a shelter with 7 other people tied to you? Very difficult!

I.T. badge at Beavers

This week the Beavers have been working on their I T badges. They have drawn some lovely pictures.

Beaver Investiture

This short and simple ceremony will be held as a part of the normal colony meeting in the evening and parents/guardians are invited to attend. Do remember your camera.

UNIFORM

 Scouting is a uniformed organisation. The new Beaver Scout should attend the investiture in uniform with the exception of their necker, woggle and badges.
The Beaver uniform is as follows: A turquoise long sleeved sweatshirt in the approved style incorporating the scout association’s logo on the right sleeve, Group necker and woggle. Official dark blue activity trousers and dark footwear are preferred. The official scout association uniform sweatshirt may be obtained from Rawcliffes 17, Colliergate, York or the Internet scout shops, www.scoutshops.com or www.glasgowscoutshop.org.uk
The group necker (not available from the shop) along with badges, handbook and woggle are supplied by the scout group. An investiture fee of £15 is charged to cover the cost of these.

BADGES

 With certain exceptions. Beaver Scout badges are provided without further charge. The badges presented at the investiture should be positioned as shown. These will include: Membership Badge, Group nametape, District and County badges.

Beavers make silly putty

The Beavers had great fun making silly putty. We did it outside as it was rather messy.

Japanese Fans

This week we talked about beaver promises from around the world, such as from Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. We then discussed the Japanese promise and learnt to say hello in Japanese. The beavers have been challenged to try and learn this promise and ‘konnichi wa’.
